I’ve been on the look out for health tech that I would support. And I’ve found it. Pads on a roll by Egal. It was such a pleasure to meet CEO Penelope Finnie and Head of UK market Niamh D’Arcy, who’s been trying to talk to me about this product for ages.
We’ve done several studies with girls and women asking them how their periods affect their wellbeing. One paper with perimenopause women is already out.
One problem women experience is being caught out without any period product to use. This is especially a problem for girls at school. Many schools have free period products but I’ve not found one that keeps them in the cubicle. This is where girls need them. If they’re not there – they will probably have to use some toilet paper whilst they go on the hunt. Schools often keep the free period products in an office. Then back to the toilet. How long does this take? Girls told us they rarely have enough time to get this sorted during a break and most teachers don’t seem to let them go to the toilet during lessons. Which has to change.
Now there’s pads on a roll. How cool is this? I would love to see this in all schools, public toilets, and employers. I wonder why we’ve not had this before?
What do you think?
